Heavy Rain

Heavy Rain is one of the best games I have ever had the pleasure of playing. Did you notice that I called it a game? Interactive Movie? Collection of Quick-time Events? Giant Cut-scene? Nope, game. Divisive it certainly is, brilliant it certainly is. For everyone, probably not, but what game is? It is however, inarguably excellent.

Mass Effect 2

Well, this is certainly a Bioware RPG, and if you really, really like the Bioware games you're going to absolutely love this game, you'll probably declare it Game Of The Year 2010, even though it clearly won't be.

Come on, it isn't that good.

Penumbra: Overture

One of my favourite games is Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, I have a soft spot for games that are actually scary, that make you cringe in fear, make you dread what happens next, yet drive you forward by using attraction combined with revulsion. It isn't easy to do, few games, or films for that matter have managed it. Arguably, games being interactive, they have the advantage, Silent Hills 1, 2, and 4 being good examples that aren't Dark Corners of the Earth. Oh and System Shock 2.

Wait, that's all the games that have managed it.

Prince of Persia

Dull.
